Federal Ministry of Food
and Agriculture is funding the joint project “GlasSchwein”

We have received a funding notification from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture for the “GlasSchwein” joint project. The notification was presented by Federal Minister Cem Özdemir to our authorized signatory Michael Brockschmidt, Niko Brand (Brand Qualitätsfleisch GmbH) and Dr. Stefanie Retz (trafo:agrar) at the “Green Week” in Berlin.
Our managing director Jörg Brezl is pleased about the funding:
“The ministry's support confirms that, together with our partners, we are advancing innovative and forward-looking technologies for a digital future with improved animal welfare and smart processes in the food indus
The project will receive funding of 1.8 million euros over a period of three years. The aim is to create a transparent and efficient value chain that ensures and further expands the future viability of high-quality, animal-friendly and sustainable pork production in Germany. To this end, animal and production data will be collected and analyzed throughout the entire processing chain. Digital interfaces are being developed for comprehensive data collection that enable seamless communication between the stakeholders involved. These measures not only serve to optimize meat quality, but also help to improve flavor and give companies a competitive edge over international competitors.
We developed and carried out the “GlasSchwein” project in collaboration with Brand Qualitätsfleisch GmbH, the Fraunhofer Institute for Non-destructive Testing, the Georg-August University of Göttingen, Hölscher and Leuschner GmbH and the Lower Saxony Association for Transformation Research in Agriculture.
